Crimper and sealing jaw design is critical to the success of the whole production and packaging line. Serration geometry (angle, pitch, depth, radii) should be matched to film, machine and objectives. Varying thickness on the endseals from the fin, lap or folds need to be considered and in many cases compensated for. Machine condition and line speed are factors that can't be ignored. And different film components and sealant layers may require specialized crimper designs.
